Work Started on Hut Renovation

Work has started on bringing our beloved scout hut back to life.

The hut was originally an old World War army hut so has many years of use and history behind it.

The interior is being stripped back to it's barebones ready for a fresh coat of paint, a good old sort out and a tidy up, and preparations are being made to renovate the electrical system.

The leaky gutters have been fixed, the soakaway has been cleared around the edge of the hut to stop the wood staying wet.

The old exterior wood has been given a nice fresh coat of creosote, minus the small bit above the porch which will be done at a later date when the porch supports are fixed.
