Welcome to 3rd/5th Lancing Sea Scout Group!
We are a Royal Navy Affiliated Sea Scout Group, registered with the Charity Commission, giving opportunities to develop skills for life to young people aged of 4 to 14.

How can you help?
Section Team
Join one of our section teams, working directly with our young people, helping them learn skills for life. [DBS, references and training required]
Squirrels (4-6 year olds): Thursday 16:30-17:30
Beavers (6-8 year olds): Wednesday 18:00-19:00
Cubs (8-10.5 year olds): Tuesday 18:30-20:00
Scouts (10.5-14 year olds): Friday 19:00-21:00
Other Membership Role
We have a range of membership roles which support the running of the group, whether that is directly with young people, or in the background keeping us going. [DBS, references and training required]
For example:
- Trustee
Help ensure our Group has good governance and is running well in our Trustee Board
- SUPETA Training Yacht Skipper and Crew roles
Help skipper or crew on our very own training yacht
- Streamside Scout Campsite Team
Help keep our campsite safe and looking smart for our young people and other youth groups to use
- Water Activities Team
Help with the running of water sessions by using your experience in kayaking/canoeing/paddleboarding/dinghy sailing/powerboating/yachting
- Fundraising and Events Team
Help organise and run fundraising events in our team of fundraisers
- Maintenance Team
Help keep our HQ, other grounds and equipment safe and in good working order by putting your maintenance skills into use
Support Roles
Help us on an ad-hoc basis with a range of jobs to be completed. [DBS required]
For example:
- Join our facilities team helping us keep our HQ looking smart and ready for our young people to use
- Register as a helper offering sporadic support to our section teams
- Offer support from home in a range of ways such as administration tasks, helping sewing on badges to uniforms, baking cakes and treats for fundraising events
